Video Processing

Working with video files and exporting processed video.

Short Summary

This page covers how to load videos, apply effects frame-by-frame, control playback, and export processed video.

Loading Video

  1. Drag and drop a video file onto the viewport, or Use the top menu to browse and select a video file.

Supported formats: MP4, MOV, WEBM, and other common video formats.

Playback Controls

The video playback controls appear when a video is loaded:

  • Play/Pause: Start or stop video playback.
  • Timeline Scrubber: Click or drag to jump to specific frames.
  • Playback Rate: Adjust playback speed.
  • Loop: Enable/disable video looping.
  • Mute: Toggle audio on/off.

Applying Effects to Video

All algorithms can be applied to video:

  • Select an algorithm from the Mode dropdown.
  • The effect processes each frame in real time during playback.
  • Adjust parameters while the video plays to see changes immediately.

Video-Specific Algorithms

Blob Track

  • Tracks moving regions in the video.
  • Displays blob IDs and tracking information overlaid on the video.
  • Useful for motion analysis.

YOLO Track

  • Real-time object detection using the YOLO model.
  • Detects and labels objects (people, cars, animals, etc.).
  • Displays bounding boxes and confidence scores.
  • Detection runs every few frames for performance.

Exporting Video

  1. Click Export in the top bar.
  2. The Video Export Settings panel opens.
  3. Choose export options:
    • Codec: H.264 (MP4), Lossless (MOV), Animated GIF, or PNG Sequence.
    • Quality: For H.264, choose High, Medium, or Standard.
    • Filename and output path.
  4. Click Export to begin rendering.

Export notes

  • The entire video duration is exported with effects applied.
  • Rendering may take time depending on video length and effect complexity.
  • A progress bar shows export status.

Performance Tips

  • For complex effects, playback may not be real-time; this is normal.
  • Pause playback when adjusting settings to see the effect on a single frame.
  • Lower video resolution before exporting for faster processing if needed.

See export-settings for related export information.
