# Quick Start

Hands-on tutorial for your first workflow.

## Short Summary

This tutorial demonstrates how to load an image, select a visual effect, apply a palette, and export the result.

## Step-by-Step Workflow

### 1. Launch the application

### 2. Load a File

- Drag and drop a content file onto the viewport, paste an image from the clipboard, or use the top bar menu to browse for and select content.

### 3. Choose an algorithm

- Open the **Settings panel** on the right side.
- In the **Mode** dropdown, select an algorithm (e.g., CRT, Bayer Dithering, ASCII).
- The viewport updates in real time to show the effect.

### 4. Select a palette

- Scroll down in the Settings panel to the **Palette** section.
- Click on a palette from the gradient bar to apply it.
- You can also create custom palettes or edit existing ones.

### 5. Adjust parameters

- Each algorithm has specific settings that appear when selected.
- Use the sliders and controls to fine-tune the visual effect.
- Changes are applied instantly in the viewport.

### 6. Compare before and after

- Use the **Compare** button in the top bar to toggle between original and processed views.
- Options include After, Before, and Split view.

### 7. Export your work

- Click the **Export** button in the top bar.
- Choose output format.
- Set the filename and destination folder.
- Click **Export** to save.

## Tips

- For large files, processing may take a moment when changing algorithms.
- Reset buttons appear next to sections when you change default values.
- Use keyboard shortcuts for faster workflow (see [controllers-and-controls](/content/docs/controllers-and-controls/index.html)).
